Is it a waste of time to apply to a UC that you are almost certain you won't be accepted to due to the fact that you have not completed their pre-reqs. For example, I am applying to CAL but I think it'll be a waste of my money and time since I won't be able to finish their political science pre-reqs unless I decide to stay at SMC for the spring 06' session. Do you think it is worth it? I wanted to finish IGETC & my major pre-reqs for UCLA by Winter session and then head back home to work full-time at a local law firm. What do you guys think?

Well, if you value going to CAL, then I'd say yes it's worth it. As I was reading along, I thought you were gonna say you would have to stay at SMC for at least another whole year or something like that. Well, actually, even then it is worth it if you are on your way to being a strong applicant.

How many more classes are we talking about here? So you're almost done with all the lower division then?

I'm only talking about 2 history classes. The thing is, I just noticed that one of the pre-reqs that I need is not offered in the Winter session thus I'll need to come back for the Spring session anyways. I guess I answered my own question already lol.

hehe, well, sounds good. You're gonna have ALL the pre-reqs, that's great!!

Do well.
