Question about NAPS

I was declined an offer to attend the Naval Academy after high school because of grades. I reapplied after a semester at Cal State Long Beach, and I got an offer. An offer to NAPS. And I'm so happy, and parents are proud. But my question is, is NAPS a guarantee that one will get into the academy? If not: How many receive an appointment from NAPS? What does it take? And what, if any, are the statistics?

I was thinking of taking classes in physics, chemistry, and calculus again; during my summer at a city college. Yes?No?

If you graduate NAPS, you WILL get an appointment to USNA unless something REALLY BIZARRE happens.

If you want to go to USNA and got an offer to NAPS, then TAKE IT.

<--- NAPS '87 :D

My son's @ NAPS and this year they started in early August. If you did well enough @ Long Beach to get NAPS, enjoy your half-summer.

Read the thread re: "NAPS stories" -- you'll take placement tests for Eng, Physics, Chem and Calc, land in a suitable tier, then it's "2.0 and go" as long as you work @ PT and keep out of mischief. NAPS

... oops. That got away from me.

If I recall correctly, NAPS graduation rate is 80 - 85%.

Congratulations!

Thanks for replying. That's helpful.

and I think the 15-20% drop out or are kicked out before they graduate.
