I know UCLA requires you to finish all the prereqs but i'm not sure about UCB, UCSD, and UCI. Anyone have info on the importance of prereqs for these schools. I'm applying for an impacted major(psych) and i'm missing one or two prereqs for those three schools since they are my backup/safety schools and I was wondering if they automatically reject you if they are not completed.

By not completin ur pre-req class doesnt mean ur automatically rejected. Although, since UCB psych major is "impacted" it should lower your chance. But, UCSD and UCI you will be fine not completein your pre-req classes.

i don't think u have to complete major requirements in ALL cases to get into ucla. if u are tap certified and have not completed ur major requirements, but have completed the requirements for ur alt. major, u're in.

for berkeley, i didn't quite understand the major requirements for art history. they are not very clear in assist.org. does this mean that major requirements are not that important, at least for un-impacted majors?

Big ups: for completing all the psych requirements for UCLA. I wanted to double major in psych and econ but after checking the reqs, I just couldn't do it. And I believe its not allowed, pfft!

depends on the major. check www.assist.org, it will tell you how competitive the major is and if you need to actually complete all the required courses listed. basically, for the less popular majors at certain schools, either some or all the prereqs aren't necessary.. and for impacted majors, it is highly recommended to complete your pre-reqs to have a better chance amongst your competition.

For many impacted majors, some UC's highly recommend...and others go as far as requiring completion of pre-reqs before a certain time. Checking would be a good idea..
