<p>So I'm a currently a OOS freshman at Cal Poly Pomona, and my dad is going to move out here in a few weeks from Texas to be closer to me and family. He is going to become a resident, since he is going to live here permanently, so does that mean that starting winter quarter of 2015, would I be able to pay in state tuition? Me and my dad will have no other ties to Texas, and my dad was my last custodial parent.</p>

<p>It looks like you must take steps a year in advance of changing your residency status, so Winter Quarter 2015 would be correct. </p>
<p>I would definitely speak with the campus admissions office about this, and very soon.</p>
