Question about scholarships based on SAT / ACT scores

Which national colleges ranked within the top 100 by US News Review offer full tuition for ACT scores above 32 or SAT ( Reading + Math only ) scores above 1400?

I know Alabama does. Not many within the top 100 do.

PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR

An out-of-state first-time freshman student who meets the December 1st scholarship priority deadline, has a 32-36 ACT or 1400-1600 SAT score [critical reading and math scores only] and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a Presidential Scholar and will receive the value of out-of-state tuition for four years.

The above is for any major as long as you apply by Dec 1st and submit the scholarship app.

And if you major in some area of engineering or CS, you also get an additional 2500 per year.

I don’t know of any other Top 100 national univ that offers the above with only a 32 ACT or 1400 M+CR SAT

USC offers pretty substantial scholarships

Not for those scores. With an ACT 32 or 1400 m+cr, you won’t get merit at USC…my nephew was rejected with those scores.

USC is offering merit to the top 5% of its applicants…those would be students with ACT 35/36…or similar SAT scores.

Yes, they offer them but it is a competitive process that involves an on campus interview and is absolutely NOT guaranteed.

Slightly out of top 100…#124 Ohio University - Athens

You would qualify for full-tuition/fees with ACT 32…if in top 10 % of class

Thanks m2ck. How about merit scholarships in the top 50 LACs?

Bump. Bump. Bump. Are there any LACs that offer good merit scholarships for SAT / ACT / GPA?

Look here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/848226-important-links-automatic-guaranteed-merit-scholarships.html

You’re asking about Top 50 LACs…I’m looking at the top 50 list in the US News magazine.

I don’t know of any that give full tuition for those scores. I think higher would be needed.

Tuition at many LACs is costing up to $40k per year…that’s a lot to give away “per year” without really high stats and possibly EC consideration…and probably nothing assured. Probably competitive.

Do you need “full tuition”? Look at it this way…Getting a full tuition scholarship can leave you with about $15k-20k per year to cover yourself for room, board, books, fees, travel, and personal expenses. If you think that you and your family can cover about $15k-20k per year, then you do need full tuition at least.

What is your intended major?
