Okay so I really messed up freshmen year and my gpa was 3.1 and sophomore year it is a 3.9-4.0 NO HONORS CLASSES. Junior year I will be in two honors and one ap and senior year i am planning on taking 5 AP and maybe 2 honors. I was wondering that lets say my sat allows it and i apply to an ivy league early admission will they put my senior year ap classes into consideration or am i being judged on my 9-11 grade classes? pls help outttt
They will look at the classes you plan to take but obviously they won’t see the grades but make sure you take a rigorous senior year.
lets say i do end up taking a rigorous senior year and i apply to a ivy ea in November, how will they know my grades and how will they judge me based on my ap scores when I haven’t taken them yet. I feel there is a high chance they will deny me.
Many schools will ask for a Senior Mid-year transcript to be sent prior to admission decisions but if applying ED, mostly likely your grades will not be available only your Senior courses. With your GPA, it might be better to apply RD since then you can send your Mid-year Senior grades.
AP test scores for most colleges are not considered for admissions decisions, only for college credit.
Hopefully you have some solid Safety and Match schools on your list, since any Ivy is going to be a Reach, even for applicants with perfect GPA and test scores.
if the scores are not considered, are the classes at least considered?
Yes, your AP classes are considered for HS rigor and of course your grades in these classes if available at time of application.
