On their website the school says they want the application, SAT/ACT scores, high school transcript, and college transcript (if applicable) by the December 16 deadline. However, most if not all of the other schools I am applying to only want SAT scores by the end of the month and then they only want my transcripts if I am enrolling. Also, below this checklist it states that I will be notified within four weeks if anything is missing. Does this mean I have an additional 4 weeks to submit paperwork? Also, what about the December SAT? Do I not get to submit it?

Basically I'm just confused about when the extra paperwork is due.

Each school has its own requirements for application. You should follow what UMN requires if you want to apply. It is safe to have everything sent to school before deadline to avoid potential delays. Somethime they will give you a few days for other credentials after you submit your application, but you never know if it will delay your application decision.

In regards to transcripts, some school let you self report your grades and then send your final transcripts before you attend. Minnesota wants you to send your transcripts now and then if you enroll, you must also send your final transcripts as well. Like the above poster said, every college is different in terms of what they want and when they want it. I would have everything in by December 14th if that is what the deadline is. In terms of your December SAT score, I would submit the SAT score(s) you have now and then send the December score once it becomes available if you think it might help you with admission. Just assume the extra paperwork is due by December 14th and make sure you have it submitted by then. Good luck!
