I graduated high school in 2016 and, due to AP credits, I had enough credits to transfer as a junior from CC after one year. I finished the major prerequisites for English for CSUN but I’m having doubts about this degree. I took AP computer science in high school and was very good at it. I just don’t particularly want an office job, and the idea of being an English teacher appealed to me. However, I realized this is not a very in-demand career field, and after working as a tutor I am not sure it is the career for me. I am considering remaining at my CC for another year or so and getting the prerequisites done for Computer Science as well to double major in them, but I know I can’t transfer more than 70 units. So my question is, CAN I stay and complete the prerequisites or, since it is too many units, would I not be able to double major and have to choose only one to transfer units for?
Talk to your CC or college counselor. That will give you the best, most accurate into.
CS is a very difficult and time consuming major - and transfer admission to most CSUs is competitive. CA has a huge teacher shortage - I think you are significantly under-stating your career prospects in that field.

I’d suggest you transfer now, pick up CS as a minor or second major as you continue your progress toward your English degree.
