Question about transferrable units.

I'm at UCSC right now and I'm trying to transfer to UC Davis. Most of the classes here at UCSC are worth 5 units but the equivalent courses at UC Davis are worth only 4 units. When my application is reviewed, will the adcoms count my transferrable courses as having 5 units or 4 units? If they count them as 4 units (in terms of UC Davis' courses), then I'm screwed because that would make me fall below the 90 unit minimum. :(

Also, some of my classes have associated labs which are an additional 1 unit. For example, my Physics class here is worth 5 units for the lecture and 1 unit for the lab (I get a lab grade that is separate from the lecture). Again, would Davis count the 1 unit for the lab towards my total units? I think Davis' 4 unit Physics class includes the lab (correct me if I'm wrong), so there's no additional units being given to the lab by Davis.

Thanks for your help! I'm just freaked out that I thought of this possible anomaly so late into the admissions process. :(

They will count them as 5.units

What about the extra lab section I mentioned? Will I get an extra 1 unit for that even though Davis’ Physics classes have their labs embedded into their lecture courses? (Santa Cruz has separate lectures and lab classes with separate grades for each. Lecture = 5 units and Lab = 1 unit.) Thanks again!

Well, it’s not like they are going to ignore the lab. Everything will transfer. The only problem I can see Is that you will have less classes completed and more units. You’ll have less room to take electives.

I’m okay with having more units and less classes. AFAIK, Davis doesn’t have a unit cap on their seniors. So I’m assuming that my lab will be calculated into my GPA as well even though its a separate course that isn’t offered separately AT davis, right? That was the main point of my question haha, sorry for not making it clearer before.
