Question about UC admission regarding SAT II

As you know, UC only requires only 2 SAT IIs, Would taking 3 help in admission? I heard they take two of your highest scores (I'm not sure though). For example, I took 3 SAT IIs scores are 700,700, and 550. UC's will only look at my 2 700s? or will they consider the 550 as well. Also should I stick to doing well on 2 subject test, and don't worry about the 3rd one, or should I take try to take the 3rd one risking a lower score?

The UC System only requires test scores from 2 SAT Subject Tests, from different subject areas. If you take more than 2 subjects tests (as you have), they will use the best 2 test scores, again as long as they are from different subject areas. In your case, they will take the two "700" scores and not use the "550" score.

FYI, if you are not aware already, the UC System does not accept the Math Level 1 Subject Test (they only accept the Math Level 2 test). If you are not applying to an engineering school, they do not care what subject tests you take.

^ yes I Know I must take Level 2 Test.
Ok, my question now is, will they see my "550" score? If they do wouldn't you think the admission officer might have some doubt about me? If they do in fact take the 2 highest scores, and don't see the "other scores", Does that mean I can take like most of the SAT IIs and just pick out my best scores?.... Wouldn't they notice something strange? I need more Information please. Thanks

They will see all of your sat I and sat II scores when you send the report. However, even at Berkeley's admissions presentation they said they only look at the highest 2 scores, so your lowest doesn't hurt you.

One thing I've never seen mentioned here is that scores that are over 550 on SAT II math 2C and something like 660 on a foreign language (I could be wrong on that mumber, but its close) at UCLA College of Letters and Science end up being able to fulfill general education requirments (once you get in). In other words, after admissions there can be benefits to having more than 2 SAT IIS. The same is true of Berkeley for the math requirement. Writing test scores above a certain level also excuse the student out of writing 1. Check each UC campus for this, as I think we saw some variation, but yes, my d is glad she took three sat IIs.
