Does Warren 14th floor, B tower, have desk lamps? Is there room for a corkboard above the desk or are there bookshelves?
Is there any wall space in the room (regular double room)
Any suggestions for items needed?

14B was my floor last year!!! Unfortunately there are no desk lapms. I bought one from Bed Bath & Beyond for 9.99 so it’s not a big deal. There are 2 shelves above the desk and a huge corkboard so don’t buy one. There’s enough wallspace for 2 posters above each bed.

Here are some photos of my room (both empty & full) to give you an idea:

Definitely get a foam pad/ eggcrate for the mattress. The blue vinyl feels hard and can be quite uncomfortable. Also buy some plastic hooks that stick to the wall if there aren’t any left over from previous occupants (if you get my former room then you’re all set haha).

Hey, do those pictures apply to the other towers as well? (A,C)

Looks like space it tight. How it the heating in B tower? Do you need a floor lamp?

What is allowable to use to adhere wall posters etc?

InvisibleMan234, yes, Hanita’s picture show a typical Warren room in A, B, or C tower. The only thing that’s different will be the view. Of course, corner doubles, singles, and quads will be different too.

berkmountain, most people do not bring floor lamps. There are multiple florescent lights but with a desk lamp, you should be set. Heating can get super hot in all of Warren. It’s common for people to have their windows cracked during the winter. Unfortunately, you can’t control the heat on a room by room basis. You can’t use nails or anything in the wall. Thumbtacks work on the bulletin board section above your desk. Otherwise, you should use poster sticky tape stuff for the walls. They’re cinderblock. Some of mine had super sticky adhesive. I had to peel it off at the end of the year… but it’s not crazy difficult to do.

As for the space, it’s very livable. It isn’t crazy tight and there’s a lot more room to put loads of stuff than you think.

Is Warren carpeted? And also are there a lot of all girl floors because of the ratio or is it spread out pretty even?

Yes, it’s carpeted. Luckily, you can rent vacuums downstairs in Warren…

There aren’t TONS of all girls floors, but a few per tower. Because of the ratio, there are only coed and girls floors in Warren (no all boys floors). Most, by far, are coed though.

Wait, so my floor is definitely coed? (I’m male and in Warren A)

Yes, there are no all-boys floors. And I don’t think they’d put you on an all-girls floor either lol

Oh, wow that’s a surprise. What are the courtesy standards on coed floors?

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking here. Coed floors aren’t a big deal. Floorcest (hooking up with someone on your floor) is a frowned upon notion. If it doesn’t work out, it can cause issues of the floor. I guess it ideally is more of a family type of bond over time.In Warren, a floor generally bonds a lot.

The boys will be on one side with the girls on the other side. The sides are connected by the common room, the hallway where the elevator is located, and the stair wells. Obviously, there are two bathrooms (one for girls, one for the boys).

Oh, psh. That’s hardly coed.

In Hojo the rooms are not split up into a “guys side” and “girls side” but since everyone has a private bathroom I guess it really doesn’t matter. But Lauren has a point. Don’t hook up with someone on your floor. It just causes drama for everyone else.

HAHA, floorcest.

It’s at least less squicky than twincest or incest. :D

^Why do I get the feeling youre a redditor

Redditor? I don’t know what that is. =/

redditor is probably someone who uses reddit (im assuming) [reddit.com: what’s new online!](http://www.reddit.com/)

would you suggest those rack raisers?

and what things should i talk about with my room mate before moving in? microfridge … bringing guys/girls … anyhting else?

Make sure they’re willing to shell out their share for the microfridge. It’d suck to rent it and not have them pay up. Maybe you guys should compare schedules now to see what times you guys will be waking up. And maybe compromise at what time it should be lights out in the room. And not just bringing buy a date or one night stand, but also talk about friends. It’d be awkward to come back to your room to find like five people in there. You guys should also probably take turns passing the vacuum in the room.
