question abt dorm buildings

Hi, I’m a transfer student selecting on campus dorm. This single bedroom costs 6k for both single and double. I realize the difference is the number of beds but if we do double, does it mean we pay half the amount since I’d be splitting with a roommate?

I’m confused because half of 6k -3k for 9 months sounds ridiculously cheap to me. Any feedback would be much appreciated thanks.

For those who go to UVA and live in Johnson, Weedon or Malone, are they far apart from each other? They’re all different buildings right? Is it loud at night? or daytime? I’m wondering because it’s hallway style which I don’t like but the other building that is as cheap is too far from campus. Thanks again.

All of the prices on the UVa residence website would be per person, not per room.

Many of the single rooms are small, which explains why they do not cost twice as much as a double room.

Be sure you are looking at housing choices and prices for transfer students, not for first year students.
