Question: Do you have to submit ALL your subject scores to colleges?

I signed up for Math II, U.S. History, and Literature for this Saturday. I'm confident about the first two, but next year is actually when I'll take my "Literature" English class. I'm taking AP English 3 Language & Composition this year.
Regardless, taking a Literature-specific English class is not a necessity as far as I can tell by practice tests. The problem is, since I have almost no experience with abstract poetry, I easily misinterpret it. I'm good with the excerpts. I'm sure I'll hit a 600, but this is unsatisfactory for the schools I want to attend.

Long story short, I know some colleges require you to submit all SAT scores for review. Would I be required to send ALL my subject tests to colleges, or can I select which ones to send? Would I be better off skipping the Literature test?

Just for reference, the only test I can replace the Literature with (should I need to) is Math I, simply because I am unqualified for everything else at this point. Lol.

You are NOT obligated to send all your scores to colleges so long as they are taken on different days. For example: after taking Math II in May and Chemistry in June, I had the option of sending one or both scores.

However, tests taken on the same day MUST BE SENT TOGETHER. Even if you score an 800 in Math II and US History, if you get a 600 in Literature, you’d be stuck with it. Most colleges only require 2 tests, and if you find one requiring 3 that you want to apply to, you can always study over the summer and take the test in September.

Thank you!! That’s exactly what I was looking for. I will take it later for sure. Now I’m just wondering should I replace Lit with Math I or just forget about it and concentrate on the first two?

“Students are only able to select which scores they send by test date for the SAT and by individual test for SAT Subject Tests™. Scores from an entire SAT test are sent. Students can choose, by test date (test sitting), which scores appear on the score report sent to colleges, universities or scholarship programs.”

“Please note that the new College Board score reporting policy will result in changes to the SAT Subject Test score reporting as well. Beginning in February 2009, you can elect to send or not to send SAT Subject Test scores INDIVIDUALLY. For example, you may take three Subject Tests in one sitting but then choose to send only two of those scores when you apply to colleges. This is a retroactive policy, so you will have the option of selecting only the tests you wish to send after February 2009, even if you took the Subject Tests earlier.”

sorry

retake the lit once u do bad. remember improvement is good.

yeah I’m in a very similar situation with bio and french (I just realized that I’m gonna fail the french tomorrow…). I would like to apply to UPenn but to my dismay, I see that they don’t do score choice. So my question is: do schools that not use score choice still demand ALL sat ii scores? Or do they just demand that all scores from a certain day are sent. This way if I bomb french I can retake bio by itself in a month and just send that and act like the bio/french never happened.

Incorrect. I have personally sent 1/2 from one day and 2/3 from another.

May be you should check into cancelling the test after taking it or showing up at the exam and asking not to take that test (I dont know if this is possible).

Here is a listing of the colleges and how they prefer their scores. Some require you to send the score if you take it.

You don’t have to decide which tests or how many (1-3) until you actually start bubbling. They’re all in one book.

ok, I’m a junior right now and I have to take the SAT I in june, so I only have tomorrow and october if I want the subject test scores by early decision time (UPenn). So should I really just try to take only bio tomorrow even though I signed up for both? I’m panicking so much right now :(

this is even more depressing as I neglected studying bio because I was so worried about french. Would a low score on french really hurt admissions (since it’s more of an auxiliary subject rather than something core like math)?

just take bio and don’t bother with french. if u don’t take french no score is made. and take french later.

i myself have to cram for math2(only on parametrics) and chem tonight(in ap chem so i know alot of the material) cause i am going to apply to pennstate and other rolling admission schools in september.

What are colleges that require you to send all the tests?

There is an option to select only one subject test score from the same date, I just checked. Not that the school will be OK with it, it may or may not be, but the option exists at CB.
