<p>are you allowed to bring in your own microfridge if it fits all of northeastern's requirements for size, electricity usage, etc. ?? or is it better to just rent thru the school?</p>
<p>I called and asked a residence supervisor. I was told that as long as the model number matches one of the current models for sale or rent, then it is fine. I ended up just buying a cheap used fridge for $30, which can be any model as long as it is a dorm sized fridge. The only part of the microfridge that is regulated is the microwave. You are not allowed to bring a detached microwave, although I hear that some people do anyway.</p>
<p>They really don’t care as long as it is roughly the same form factor. I had plenty of contraband in my room that was never questioned.</p>
<p>That’s what the guy who sold me the fridge said. He wanted to sell me his microwave too, but I didn’t buy it.</p>
