Question for McConklin -- SAT Subject Tests

I know from the UR website that UR encourages applicants to submit all SAT reasoning test results from all test dates and that UR uses the highest score from each section. However, can students choose to submit results from some but not all Subject tests? For example, suppose one takes a Math, Physics and History subject test -- can a student just submit the results from Math and History?

Thanks!

rbhhbr… That is a very good question, and quite honestly, one I don’t know the answer to. I believe that the College Board recently revised their policy to allow students to select which scores will be sent to which colleges, but I am not 100% confident that that is the case. I think your best bet is to check the College Board website or to contact the College Board directly.

Thanks. The College Board will allow a student to send some but not all subject test results to a school, just as they allow students to send SAT 1 tests from some but not all test dates. What I was wondering about was UR’s policy regarding subject tests – my understanding is that UR (like a lot of schools) prefers to see all SAT 1 tests, regardless of the scores, and that UR “superscores” the SAT 1. I wasn’t quite sure about the policy on subject tests – I would think that a student could send some but not all subject tests (particularly since UR doesn’t “require” any) but I wasn’t sure. Thanks again for all your help on this CC forum!

Just be aware that some schools put the SAT subject tests on your transcript, so the colleges will see them anyway, even if you don’t choose to send em from College Board.

Since Rochester doesn’t require SAT IIs, I can’t see why not submitting one or more of them would be an issue.

rbhhbr… You are correct. Because we don’t require them, you can send any combination of SAT subject tests that you feel appropriate.
