Who do I talk to to make sure I'm able to retake the exam? Would I be able to take it in August? I know I'm a few days late but can I walk in to my school tomorrow and tell someone(I dont know who) that I messed my exam and would like to take it now; would they let me? I know I passed the class with a 90 and I really don't want to have to retake the course or exam next year, I want to get it over with. It's the living environment regents(biology). I have a few questions about the actual exam itself. How's the curve on the exam? If I payed attention in class but didn't take notes, would it be an easy exam to get a 90 on? I'm using regents prep to study and have been studying past regents questions. My Living Environment teacher told me that if I wanted to be in Honors Chemistry next year(10th grade), I'd have to get atleast get an 85. Would this mean 85 percent of the questions right or an 85 as an exam grade(it's pretty obvious to me but I'm just looking for comfirmation)? Thanks to any and all future answerers. :D

You would have to talk to your counselor or your school’s summer school office. They can sign you up for the regents in August.
From what I’ve read the curve is like 20pts. Could be less than that because 20pts seems like a stretch. Plus science regent curves are usually pretty weak.
But I suggest you buy the Barrons Review Book for Living Environment and bury your time into them. If you got a 90 in the class you should do good on the regents either way. I personally found the test somewhat easier than the class. But you should still really study throughout July to secure an 85 or above.

Have your parents get involved and sign you up for the August exam.There’s no reason you can’t take it.
Just study tons of the old exams and you’ll be fine. The curve is very kind.

@ChickenOn Rice,
The Living Environment examination is offered on August(18th) according to your link.
Thanks everyone for the responses, I’ll call my guidance counselor and ask to take the exam in August.

The regents don’t do remakes in fear of cheating and the cost it will take to make another test. You can take another test in August and if you miss that one, in January.

@ChickenOnRice
They are offered in August. What I’ve heard is that don’t offer them in January anymore because supposedly not enough kids where taking them then and they thought it was a waste.

My understanding is that they will offer the tests that are necessary to graduate in August but may cut out January entirely. Living environment is a mandatory test so they should offer it. Did you “miss” the test as in not go to it as your post title says or do you “mess” it as your post said? My friend had the wrong schedule up (used the state one and not our school’s) so her son arrived too late for Global to take it and will do it in August.

Your missing the regents will most likely show up as an absence on your transcript. For example it will say MXRG and instead of a score it will indicate abs. You should definitely speak with your GC about getting signed up for the August exam or see if you can do the test as a walk in at another high school in August.
