Question for the guys,

What's your opinion on girls being the one to ask guys out? How would you react about it?

I wanna ask my school's quarterback to a legit football game, but I don't wanna freak him out by being too forward, lmfao. So I want some opnions to see what the general feeling is. :)

I’d be flattered. Girls put too much pressure on us to initiate things as it is. Personally, I’d be pleasantly surprised.

It’s the same as for a girl. He’ll probably be flattered that you’re interested in him like that.

Personally, I like when a girl takes initiative. That doesn’t necessarily mean I would want to date her, but she earns points for that.

I would love it if a girl asked me out! Being the shy ■■■■ I am, this is a big plus. :D

It’s easier than waiting for him to ask you, that’s for sure. Girls don’t have to be the one sitting back and waiting for the guy to give signs. For most guys, a girl taking the initiative is something really refreshing and they will definitely appreciate it.

I’d be absolutely thrilled and would in no way ever consider saying no.

Please, tell your friends that this is the new norm and that everyone should practice it. I may still have hope…

Ew, the quarterback? How 1950s of you. You should go after a hipster, something a little more 2010s.

But still, the whole being proactive thing will only help your standing, in my opinion.

Depends: if I don’t like the girl as more than a friend and there’s a very sudden realization (read: being asked out or something similar) then I do not react well; if I do like the girl then I’d be pleasantly surprised.

P.S. - As my 50-something history teacher once put it: if a guy realizes a girl likes him, he will most likely not pass up on the opportunity. All you need to get a guy is to like him.

Note that this doesn’t apply to everyone (i.e. me), but for many guys this may be the case.

I’m liking all of the positive feedback on this, thanks guys! :)

One of my friends had told me that it would kind of freak him out, so I wanted to check with a larger group of guys to see if that was normal, or if they mostly liked the idea.
So thank you for reassuring me that it is a good idea. :}

Honestly, I would love it. I would about 90% say yes.
Being as nervous and shy as I am, me asking a girl is near impossible.

I would love it. Girls never ask at my school.

under the assumption that the girl is good looking and cool, then yeah that would be great

if she’s not…

I think that it would be great.

Ralec and FallenAngel have the truth of it.

You’d be supremely happy if the girl you liked asked you out. Of course you would.

I asked out my boy. Four and a half years later, and we’re still going strong  lol.

Just ask him. He’d probably be pleasantly surprised. I think guys are much less likely to turn down a girl than vice versa.

It would be good.

qft .

everyone else pretty much said it :)

good luck
