Question: is the national youth leadership forum...

anything special? or is anyone able to go?

has anyone gone before?

Are you talking about the National Young Leadership conference sponsored by teh Congressional Youth Leadership Council? Because if you are, i had the same question.

Those programs are offered to almost every college bound kid in high school. The consensus is that they are fun to attend and wil be interesting if it relates to a career you might pursue, but they are worthless in the eyes of college admissions.

so are they lying when they say that its offered to less than one percent of the "high achieving young" population in the country?

Yeah, pretty much. lol

Well, they dont have to be. You just need to examine their definition of a high achieving student.

probably every kid who intends to graduate high school.

the thing i got wasn't from the congressional youth leadership council. it was some official looking military dude's letter.

but it's similar probably. and on the website, they have "real people stories".

the people who got "nominated" were like in their local newspaper or something.

i'll prolly check with my guidance counselor or teachers.

I was invited to attend, and I have a 2.8GPA, 21 ACT, so I guess you can say pretty much anyone gets it.
