Question on Grades

I know this question has been asked before, but I was wondering

My school does not take pluses and minuses (eg B+ vs B or A- vs A) into consideration during GPA calculation (We don't rank, not even percentiles).

But do their presence on a transcript affect college admissions anyways?

You'll have to check with the college itself. Pluses and minuses are treated differently from school to school. Stanford, for instance, disregards them when they recalculate GPA for admissions purposes.

Do you know where I can find that information?

A good place to start is colleges' websites. You might check out their admissions FAQs. You could also email the admissions offices, although they might be rather busy at this time of the year.

Well, I found out that Stanford and the UCs don't factor it into GPA calculation from my counselor. Anyone know about others?

you mean.. some schools give you more points for a B+ than a B-? weird.. my school doesn't do that...

Neither does mine, but some high schools do it. I was just wondering if some colleges admissions do the same...

I wish my school did that.. Maybe it does, I just transferred, so I don't really know.

mine do.
but getting some extra points for a B+ balances out the points I DONT get for A-s
It actually works against me.
On a 4.0 scale, with +/- counting, and honors courses +.33 and AP courses +.43, I have a 4.13 GPA
On a 4.0 scale, WITHOUT +/- counting, and honors courses+.33 and AP courses +.43, I have a 4.34 GPA
