Does anybody know if Stanford considers plus and minus grades from high school for their applicants? The GPA on my high school transcript doesn't take pluses or minuses into account (an A=4.0 regardless of whether it is 99% or 90%), but it is noted noted in the transcript whether a grade is strong or borderline, so in theory a college could use that to recalculate my GPA. Would the admissions officers at Stanford do that, or would they just go with the official GPA listed on the transcript?

Thanks,

i have no idea, but they should. It's unfair to students who have A+ in their school system (so a A average wouldnt be a 4.0)

All grades are recalculated by Stanford. How they go about that is not transparent, but if such information is offered to them, I am sure they will recalculate it.

Actually, I believe Stanford no longer recalculates GPA, a policy effective this year.
