I was wondering whether first semester grades of senior years are sent. I am on a good upward trend, but school gets out on Dec. 26 and i don't think they'll send transcripts after that. Will 1st semester grades show up on my transcript for college? If so....how much will it help in the application. If I ask them to send my transcript early it wont show first semester grades.

Yes they will be sent and evaluated. How much will it help? Depends right? If you do well, of course it’ll be good. If not, then not. You dont need to ask them to send them early. They will be asked by colleges to send in your first semester grades.

This happens for everyone, from every college.

BushidoFan, school gets out on Dec. 26? Where are you? (Treat that question as rhetorical if you prefer not to answer.) That’s a mighty unusual date for school to get out in the U.S.

Here’s what usually happens with transcripts. Your school sends a transcript that’s current through the end of junior year along with your Secondary School Report when you submit your applications. Then some time later, after grades from the first semester are complete, your school sends a Mid-Year Report. This report really just verifies that you have persisted in the classes you were enrolled in when you submitted you application, and reports your first-semester grades. Schools send these reports at different times–often between late January and mid-February–and colleges know that they will roll in at different times. But your school will send these Mid-Year Reports and updated transcripts to every college or university that you have applied to.

a lot of schools want first marking period senior year grades as well. or some type of progress report.
check with each school, email their admissions if the info is not readily available on the website. best of luck.

ZombieDante-- all the schools I’m applying to specifically said they want senior year grades ASAP after first marking period/trimester is over (around Thanksgiving). For early applicants
