Question on UMich Grading

<p>Ive seen that there's a UMich GPA Grading like if u get a A then it is 4.0, B it is 3.0, ect. The Thing I don't understand is that if a kid took some moderate classes and honor courses and got straight A's, he would have a better GPA than someone who took all honor/AP courses but got A's and B's? So does that mean rigor doesn't really matter for Umich GPA? Thanks.</p>

<p>Oh, rigor matters. In the GPA, classes like gym and other core classes are not even counted. Michigan also looks at the toughness of the classes. They're just not weighting them in the GPA.</p>

<p>Hm....I went to a recent Umich seminar when they were touring the state like in the summer or sometime and Amanda (my ex-counselor) said they look at your GPA right now as a raw, no recalculations....and then further go on to look at your classes. So I think they got rid of the </p>

<p>Hm...yea...rigor is definitely considered. I'm telling myself I shouldn't worry too much and that they'll seriously look at my classes, but there is that side of me that is nervous as heck and ready to defend any of my AP and honors classes! hahah</p>
