I’m a 3rd year Engineering transfer and have a quick question. For my community college Cal Poly requires two english courses in order to transfer into their program. I’ve had the first english course done for quite some time, but I’ll be taking the second one this upcoming Fall which is the same semester I’m applying to Cal Poly SLO. Will that have any impact on my admission into the school? It’d be a bummer if they wanted that course done before the application was sent in, but hopefully it won’t make a difference. Thanks.

Per the website as long as the courses required that are listen in bold under the admission criteria for your major are complete by SPRING semester of the year before you plan on attending poly, you’re fine. I.E. I took Chemistry which was required Fall 2011 for admission for this fall 2012 so they had not seen the grade until after I took it. They did however see its as in progress. Same goes for any class…just make sure those GE’s are as complete as they can be as well as every course listen in bold, as well as some recommended. Engineering is very competitive so keep up great grades and competitive course load and good luck!
