Specifically, I'm curious about Philos 25A. I'm taking it this semester, and I'm doing well as far as numbers are concerned (we have only had one paper so far but I got an A). However, I'm a bit behind in the class. We can assume that I can maintain high grades in the papers, since the papers are on specific portions of a single reading which I can easily cram/skim on time for the paper due date and still snag a good grade. However, I'm afraid that my being behind in the class will adversely affect my performance on the final, which could possibly be cumulative. We're allowed to take one class towards the Philosophy major P/NP, so I'm debating whether I should take this class Letter-grade and risk hurting my GPA with the final, or just take it P/NP when it is also possible that I could end up with an A.

So I guess my question is: has anyone taken 25A (Corcilius is teaching this semester) before? For those who have, what was the final like? Is it very nitpicky and cumulative? Or do you think I could get away with cramming/reading Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy during dead week before finals?
