What is the recalculated GPA people are mentioning?
Thanks!

UCF takes your gpa and recalculates it. They only look at core classes (english, math, etc) and give an extra .5 for honors classes, and 1 point extra for ap’s.

I think they also put foreign language credits into that calculation too, but I could be wrong.

I believe you are correct.

Thanks! So that really brings peoples GPA’s up.

Normally, no. If you do well in electives, your GPA will go down a little bit. If you don’t do well in electives and well in your core classes, then your GPA will go up. I sucked at some of my electives, so in my case it went up. Most people’s go down.

Well if the OP is comparing unweighted GPA to college recalculated, than yes it will most likely be an improvement. My college recalculated is lower than my weighted GPA though, but that’s only because my schools has “academic electives” that are weighted but colleges don’t count them as a core course.
