Will it ruin my chances if I have 1 b+ in ap world history. I am a freshman taking all honors classes. I have around 10 a/a+ if that matters. Thanks

There’s not a college on the planet where one B+ will sink your chances. Don’t be that kid. Please.

Thanks for clarifying. I don’t really know any better so I was just asking.

If it makes you feel any better, my friend got a B+ in Pre-calculus (or some similar math class) and was accepted to Harvard this year, while some straight A students didn’t even get into top 10; college acceptances depend on a lot of other factors. So it won’t hurt at all, especially because it is an AP course and you’re a freshman after all! Just try to maintain a healthy GPA through high school and be involved in extracurriculars. You’ll be fine!

So it is not really harmful?

Nope, not in the long run; these things lose significance in comparison to ECs and personal passions. There’s a reason why Princeton doesn’t just accept valedictorians or perfect 4.0 students. They look at a variety of other things too, so you’re okay!

@Ravenclaw101 – you’re seriously edging to being that kid that I warned you about in reply post #1 above. Please relax. You have another 2+ years to go before college apps go in. You’ll give yourself an ulcer and be insufferable to friends and teachers if you stay like this.

Trust me in my district everyone is a lot worse than me

And for that, you have my sincere sympathies. You don’t need to be a lemming however. Don’t be like that. I’m sure your teachers hate that stuff.

Oh, the freshmen.

I got two Bs in first semester freshman year in some challenging classes. It may seem awful at the time, but I’ve got a 4.2 GPA now as a rising senior and those two little Bs are of no concern to anyone. Don’t stress.
