lets say that i applied for business at SC, ok? now, looking back, i see that this was a mistake b/c i could never get into Marshall...now, inevitably, they will reject me for this major; HOWEVER, will they still consider me for just undeclared/normal intrance into the school? i thought i read something about that on their website before i applied and thats why i applied for business, but i cant find it now, and the panic of this last week or couple of weeks of waiting is nearly driving me mad. so i thought i'd ask you wise folks...sorry if reading this completely wasted your time ;)!

yes. It doesn't matter which major you applied to - you are automatically considered for undeclared if you get rejected from your first and second choice major.

So there is absolutely no risk in going for the "hard" to get into majors.

thank you for this helpful piece of information, jbusc, it eases my mind tremendously!
