There is no guarantee. I persoanlly know a student who would be somewhere around the 16th or 18th family memeber to attend a tier 1 school, AND there is a building with the family name on it and this student did not get accepted in a previous year. Schools MAY set a slightly lower standard, but they do not want to set them up for failure either.

I find it hard to beleive that - if I read this correctly - a current student at Deerfield knows the admissions status of a candidate? Not likely. The aunt at Exeter...certainly possible. The Milton "inner circle" I don't know...

To add to Linda's story, I know of someone who's family had donated millions to NMH, her mother attended NMH, her two siblings are currently attending NMH, and she was not accepted this past year to NMH. As Linda says, there is no guarantee.

I know a girl who had a c in the class she was once the top scoring student in. she did no sports or other ecs and her personality is nothing special

her grandfather is a trustee at an andover level school and she got in for sure. she had to tutor over the summer

Take a deep breath...move away from the keyboard...relax.....all is going to be just fine...its almost spring...enjoy yourself...!!!
