How much is the pay?

It says all expenses paid for the summit. Does that include airfare and hotel?

Will the non profit organization i will be working at be close to home?

I am interested in the program but I really dont know anything about it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It varied between organizations, but I got payed $10/hr

Yes, EVERYTHING is completely paid for, except any souvenirs that you want

This also varies, but it will most likely be within 20 minutes of you. If you live within the district that you’re applying as, chances are it won’t be far

It sounds like an overstatement, but the program was truly one of the highlights of my life. I met incredible people, and made some amazing friends. It was the most diverse group that I’ve ever been in (economically, racially, geographically, people attending harvard/community college, etc.), and we did great things. You’re split up into groups of about 15-20 people, and do various activities with them. There were debates, inspiring speakers, and trips to the monuments. We also met with our Representatives and got to talk to them and discuss issues that are important to us

@rach525600 how were your essays? were they as formal as personal statements?
Also how do we find out which market we are in?

My essays were not very formal. They don’t give you a lot of room, so I answered the prompts as directly as possible, while citing short anecdotes from my life that exemplified what I was writing. It’s important to be organized in your writing, but focus more on writing about your passion.
If I remember correctly we had to choose which market we were in before applying. I’m afraid I’m not much help, because I’m from RI which has it’s own market. If you don’t have to choose beforehand, they’ll let you know when/if you get chosen. Good luck!
