Questions about cadet life

Are you allowed to sing in the communal showers during BCT? Is there even enough time because that is what I LOOOOVVE to do!

Maybe jodies...

What does "jodies" stand for.

I don't know, but it sounds dirty...for a shower activity...

Don't you guys have to wear "tighty-wities" like all the other academies? This comes up every year.

A jodie is a song!

Tighty Whiteys! Dang it!

Boxers are usually a no-no. Also at least at CGA the girls have individual showers while the guys are "communal"...

what a ripoff. if i was at usafa i would be so mad.

Time for shower:about 2 minutes.

2 min...hummmmmmmmmmm...

That's on a good day...ha ha.

Black undershhirts=no way...everything is white...

2 minute showers? thats how long it takes me to get the water just right :D

Wipe that grin off your face sailor...

haha i was just kidding, i dont shower.

"What I've heard for girls is that all undergarments are to be white."

That's true. Guys' undergarments need to be white too, but they get issued theirs; females do not get issued bras/underwear.

"Also you might want to buy a couple of solid black t-shirts to wear under your BDUs. it would be nice to have a couple extra clean pair."

I wouldn't recommend it. Just go with what you're issued. Clean and BCT don't even belong in the same sentence, unless there is a "not," "never," or "anything but" included too.

"This is kinda akward, but with sports bras...wouldn't you get "harrassed" if it was visible through your white PC shirt? I would tend to think it doesn't look "professional.""

White is the most conservative color to wear under one.

"For "personal hygiene" time, are you rushed through a "massive" shower area or what? How much time do you have?"

Essentially, yes.

"Are you allowed to sing in the communal showers during BCT?"

That's a big NO, unless your cadre tell you to (for their amusement)

"Also at least at CGA the girls have individual showers while the guys are "communal"..."

In the dorms, there are different stalls, but some don't have curtains. The area where everyone undresses and dries off is communal. This doesn't vary by gender. In Jack's Valley, There's a small room with showerheads all along the walls. No curtains and no room to move around without bumping into other people. However, thta's usually the least of your concerns.

"2 minute showers? thats how long it takes me to get the water just right"

Basics usually don't get to control the temperature. 2 minutes is a liberal amount of time, especiallly before you go to Jack's as you're not doing very much to get dirty. However, as time goes on and you all begin to smell worse, don't be surprised if cadre extend the shower time (by a few seconds).

d'oh. That will be interesting.

are shower times limited when not in BCT? Also, how many showers are you allowed to take per day?

As a firstie you get shower privliges... That means you can shower twice a week. But during basic and the rest of your time at the Academy, you only get one per month. I guess it is apart of the whole force shaping thing, they are trying to save money on the water bill.
