My brother is going into his 4th year at a CC and I wanted to try and help answer some of his questions. The first 2 years he went to play a sport and didn't care about his grades. This past year he transferred to a different CC, didn't play a sport, and brought up his GPA slightly. He has little hope that he can actually transfer to a University since he has been at a CC for so many years and still doesn't have the best GPA. My question is what would be the lowest GPA a school, for example we were looking into Temple University, would accept and would he be less likely to get in since he has been at a CC for longer than 3 years?

<a href=“Transfer Students | Temple University Office of Undergraduate Admissions”>http://admissions.temple.edu/apply/transfer-applicant says that Temple’s average admitted transfer student college GPA is 3.10, although some majors/divisions are higher. It does not say what the minimum college GPA to transfer is (obviously, some transfer students have GPAs lower than the minimum).

Some schools do admit transfer students with college GPAs as low as 2.0.

Many CC students attend for more than 2 years before they are transfer-ready, due to having to attend part-time for work or family obligations.
