Hello guys, so I recently got accepted as a junior-transfer to UC Berkeley and I have already done an SIR. I now have a few questions about their Condition of Admission with regards to coursework and updates. I have already completed all IGETC/GE and major requirements (100+ quarter units). And I’m just using up my time by taking extra courses for a possible minor or double major.
I am taking classes at 2 community colleges. On my original plan, I listed Linear Algebra for Summer 2020 at my 1st college. Right now, I have the opportunity to take Linear Algebra at my 2nd college for Spring 2020 quarter instead (so I can have a relaxed Summer) and this was not listed in my original plan.
However, I might drop my Spring 2020 Linear Algebra class later on, get a W, and go with my original plan. If I do so, I will have to go to the Undergraduate Admissions Update Form to add a Linear Algebra class for Spring 2020 with a W grade. Then, I will continue through with the original plan of taking the Linear Algebra class at my 1st college in the Summer. Would that W look bad or risk a cancellation of admission?
I am also taking Discrete Math for Spring 2020 quarter that I didn’t list on my UC application either (last minute decision to take it). I might drop it as well and get a W. If I do so, I will have to go to the Undergraduate Admissions Update Form to add a Discrete Math class for Spring 2020 with a W grade. Would that W look bad or risk a cancellation of admission also?
TLDR: I am not dropping/removing any class(es) from my Condition of Admission. I may be adding class(es) that I didn’t originally list on my UC Application, but I might drop those class(es) and get W grade(s). Will adding those 2 extra classes with W grades put my admission at risk?
Also, are we allowed to submit an Undergraduate Admissions Update Form more than once or make changes to it?
As you may have already noticed, one of my colleges go by the quarter system, which means that Spring 2020 quarter will end near the last week of June. This will cause transcripts from that school to miss the July 1 deadline for submitting Spring 2020 transcripts. Do I have to contact my admissions officer to notify this, submit a Undergraduate Admissions Update Form with the topic “I’m having trouble with submitting a final transcript/document,” or just leave it as is and assume they already know?
Usually, how long does it take for an admission officer to reply to emails?
Thanks!
