I am from China and was admitted for 2010 fall term international freshman recently. I want to join this program and also want to get some scholarships from this program, because corps scholarships can let me pay in-state tuition.
My sat score is 1340(cr math) and gpa is 3.9. How hard to get into corps program?
I emailed a Representative in corps program. He said that i must arrive on campus and then i can contact them at that time. But i must paid the tuition(out of state)before i can arrive on campus . So does that mean i can no get any scholarship in my first year in TAMU?

You officially join the Corps during your New Student Conference. I think they give 100% of out-of-state (including international) cadets a Corps scholarship so they can get in-state tuition. These are awarded throughout the summer. You should be able to get one if you join the Corps.

Did you apply for scholarships on your original application by the December 1st deadline? If so, you will be eligible to be considered for scholarships from that source as well.

Thank you so much.
I am international students and do not have chance to apply scholarship on my original application. I have applied corps scholaship and submitted application around Dec,2009.

Can i get corps scholarships before i arrive on campus?

I don’t think you can get a Corps scholarship until you have actually signed-up with the Corps, and then it may take a few weeks. They would have it in time for your bill to be paid in the fall, though. When are you scheduled to attend your NSC? The earlier in the summer the better to give it time to be resolved before school starts. You can call and talk to the people who handle the Corps scholarships to be more assured of the process and your chances of receiving one. Their phone number is 1-888-244-4456 or 1-979-458-1709 and email is scholarships@corps.tamu.edu
