UT was very generous with their grants to me, I have enough to pay for my tuition and cover about 2 months rent for my apartment.

I took out a subsidized loan to help cover the rest of my housing expenses, but I am also in need of more to cover everything fully. I am well aware the university cannot cover my full living costs with just grants alone. So my questions are:

How can I qualify for a work study grant? I'd rather do a work study then work a part time job because I do not have to enter this as income on my fafsa. However I was not offered any. Can I call the UT financial aid office to see if I can still qualify?

I applied for a Continuing and Transfer Scholarship along with my application. On CASH it says that award recipients are typically notified in June/July. How many students typically get awarded this scholarship?

I am looking at outside scholarships as well. I was thinking to apply to one that is offered by my youth group. My question is, IF I get awarded this scholarship (it ranges from 1k-2.5k), will it reduce the amount of grants UT gave me? Or do I keep the grants PLUS whatever scholarship money I earn?

I did try calling the financial aid office but I was on hold for about 20 minutes and I had to go to work. I'll try and call them again tomorrow.
