is that true for top tier schools require 4 years foreign language? where I can find this information,? anyone has a link?

You would have to check each school’s website for their requirements. With that said very few schools, if any, ‘require’ 4 years of language, but many recommend it. Many applicants to more selective schools will have 4 years of FL.

Note that 4 years of FL typically means thru Year 4, so if an applicant had a year of FL in 8th grades, they might only have taken 3 years of HS FL…but would meet the 4 year recommendation/requirement.

Usually under something like “High School Preparation.”

On the Common Data Set, it is under section C5.
