Hey, can you start business classes your first year at IU, or do you have to attend IU one year before you begin business classes at Kelley? I know if you get direct admission, your already in Kelley, but do you still have to wait a year to take classes at Kelley? BTW: I'm majoring in finance...

Also, are there any athletic facilities on campus for working out, basketball, some others? If so, how good is it and do they hire any students to work there?

I appreciate it...

i have never been to bloomington, but my son and i attended a information session that Indiana had in New York City last June.

here is a link to the rec centers. they seem to be really nice

as far as business courses go, here is what i know. first you are granted admission to the university and you will receive a notice to this effect. Then your application is sent to kelly to see if you qualify for direct admission. if not, then you attend the university and can apply to kelly after your freshman year.

i do not see any reason why you wouldn't be able to take a business elective course i.e. macro economics that could later be used after you get into kelly, but you should call or email them with that question, although i am sure someone who goes to kelly will respond here.

good luck

Doesn't matter if you're a direct admit or not. Either way you can take business courses your freshmen year! I am a freshman, and I will be taking three business classes (A100, X100, K201) as prereqs and also because I'm in a business FIG. I'm not even a direct admit!

And when I went to orientation they showed us the rec center which was pretty sweet! It had basketball courts, small gyms with mats/badminton nets/volleyball nets and what not, treadmills, work out rooms...the works! They even offer free classes and stuff for things like yoga. And there is also a tennis court and volleyball court by Wright Quad. Pretty much all you could ask for!

There's the HPER and there's the SRSC, both are very crowded but great facilities nonetheless.
