So I'll keep this short, but is there something wrong with Hitch? I'll be living in a double there next year, and the place seemed nice enough. However what surprised me was that I never even knew it existed before I got my housing offer. Plus everybody here who got housing there applied for a change. Why is everybody running away from there so quickly? Is there something that I'm missing that I should know about?

Hitch is a suite-type of dormitory. It doesn't have a lobby or anything -- it's just like an apartment. It's cons, as some people would see, would include the less social atmosphere and the distance rom the main housing areas. The majority of freshmen live in res halls.

I personally heard that suites are mostly for athletes. However, I don't have any confirmation.

Hitch is the farthest away from campus. You'd have to walk an additional 5-6 minutes just to get to Bruin Walk. Also, it's kind of a maze getting from one place to another in the Hitch and Saxon suites.

Well the age thing is not a problem. I'm an incoming transfer student, and I know a lot of transfers who want to do the whole "on-campus" thing get placed in Hitch. So in my case that's not a big problem. Most of the complaints I've heard about Hitch is the distance from everything else. However I've also heard that the rooms tend to be nicer then the res halls.
