Questions about Mount Holyoke

Hello everyone!

I am an international student and have been accepted to Mount Holyoke and another co-ed college for admission this fall! While I’m still evaluating my options, I am very very very excited about my MoHo acceptance!! However, I have a few questions about MoHo and would be really grateful if a current student or alumna could help me out!

Is MoHo much of a “community engaged learning” type of campus? Can anyone please share their experience with a community based learning class that they’ve taken? What is the availability of such community based learning classes? And generally how are these classes?

I intend to apply to Law Schools after graduation! Does any one have any experience with the pre-law advising at MoHo? And, generally what reputation does MoHo have for sending its students to Law schools? Is MoHo highly regarded by prestigious law schools?

How is MoHo viewed as in comparison to the other sister schools?

Thank you!

Yes, I know MoHos that have gone on to the top law schools. There’s a decent pre-law adviser on-campus and as long as you’re proactive and know what you need for law school (high GPA + strong writing skills +high LSAT, etc.) you can definitely do it. I believe that one of the Yale Law School Deans is a MoHo alum.

I attended Mount Holyoke and then entered Michigan Law School directly after college. I got better grades in law school than I did in college. The preparation at Mount Holyoke is excellent. Ellen Cosgrove is the dean at Yale Law School that is referenced in the previous post.

Hi! My mother is an alumni from Mount Holyoke who later went on to law school and became a district attorney. I’d say it’s definitely possible, I don’t know much on this but if you have any specific questions, I’d be happy to ask my mom what her experience was like (although it was in the 1980’s so a lot has probably changed!)
