Questions for current Rice students!!

I am a prospective transfer student and I want to find out more about Rice. I want to major in economics and I have a few questions~</p>

<p>1) Is is easy for students to have close relationships with professors? </p>

<p>2) How large are most economics classes? </p>

<p>3) Are there many research opportunities as an econ major? </p>

<p>yes, intros are large like at another other college (even small ones) while upper levels can be very small, and yes but it is entirely self-interest (you can do it as a freshman or not do it in your entire time here)</p>

<p>I'm an English major and can't say anything about Econ classes specifically since I have never taken one, but I know it is really easy to have close relationships with professors in any field of study. You just have to put forth the effort and speak with them directly. All the professors I've ever had have been very accommodating and very eager to help students who are eager to learn.</p>
