Well I tried emailing the admissions office, they never returned the email, and I tried calling them today when their office hours are open, no one was there. I’m guessing they are still on vacation. Therefore I require CC to help me out!

When and how do I register? I went on the BU Banner site to try to register, but it says that I need to confirm my enrollment. I already thought I did, but I clicked on it again. It says “Our records show that you are not registered for classes. You must be registered for classes to complete this process to maintain enrollment. Please exit this survey and return after you register.” Okay so I go to register link and it says that there are no terms! I looked up some classes and they all say Closed or Not available for registration. I also read on a letter that we register for classes at Orientation, but isn’t that a little too short to process things?

Is Orientation both Thursday and Friday or can we go either days?

If I send my AP scores from College Board does that mean I get credits towards the requirement for graduation?

I took a college Calc I course for Fall 08 semester at another college. Can I just send my transcript to Bing and they will allow me to take Calc II?

in another thread, i already gave you this link -- MUST Dos
you really need to go thru everything carefully.

under #3 on that link:

You will receive an invitation in the mail by the end of December. Be sure to register and attend orientation on Thursday, January 22 and Friday, January 23, 2009, where you will learn more about Binghamton and register for your spring semester courses.

If your ap scores meet the requirements, you will get credit -- check the ap credit criteria for the school you are in. in general, orientation is designed to answer a lot of your questions.

did you get that info? have you registered for orientation? you register for your classes as part of orientation. after that you will be able to confirm your enrollment.

if you are not registered for orientation - CALL THEM ASAP!!

Yes, I read the Must Dos (thank you for linking), but sometimes the letters and the sites didn't make sense. Some said that I register and check in on Friday, while some said that it was both days. I did register already.

Do they also help with choosing classes during registration?

you should have a chance to get advise about what courses to take as well as being talked thru the actual mechanics of how to register. but its not a bad idea to start looking thru courses and have some idea of what you might be interested in ahead of time. here's link to where you can look up courses - https://buonline.binghamton.edu/banner/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched you can look for courses by subject or by "attribute" -- attribute refers to the gen ed requirements -- so you can have it show you a list of courses that meet a specific gen ed.

be sure to check how many seats are left in courses you may be interested in -- realize that everyone else has already registered, but don't freak out. there will be courses -- just be prepared with various options.

according to the "beginnings" link i posted above, you register for orientation and check in to your room on thurs. i think the registration they are referring to for friday is the course registration.
