Questions on housing contract @ Virginia Tech

I got accepted to Virginia tech for fall 2018. I am currently at the housing/dining stage. Some of my questions are as follows.

1)Is it fine if I wait till mid-May to complete this contract?
2)If I try to complete this contract now(deadline for submission is June), will I have to choose a roommate now?
3)How do I find the roommate of my preference? I have tried joining FB group for VT, but I am not sure how to proceed.

The longer you wait to complete the contract, the fewer room options you will have because they procees room requests in order they receive contrcats. You do not have to choose a roommate now. As for finding one, I think you do the survey, engage on the FB page, and either try to find a good match or hope for the best in a random assignment.
