Hi. I was looking around on the internet when I came across this on the UC Davis Admissions page. UC Davis General Catalog | Admission as a Freshman

"Under this pathway, the top nine percent of graduating students in California according to the UC admissions index are guaranteed admission to a UC campus."

However on the Official UC page, it says this. University of California - Statewide path

"If you're in the top 9 percent of California high school graduates and AREN'T ADMITTED to any of the UC campuses you apply to, you'll be offered a spot at another campus if SPACE IS AVAILABLE."

My questions are:
1. Say I qualify (Which I do, I checked). Due to the circumstances stated in the UC page, does this mean that if I, for example, applied to all the UC's, and I didn't get accepted to any but the lowest one academic-wise like UC Riverside, I would have to go to UC Riverside and will not be able to be part of this statewide path and choose a college?

Do you decide which college to go to if you are qualified for the statewide path?

Does anyone know how often "space is available" in this process and the chances of being able to go into a specific college if qualified?

Since I qualified, would you recommend I only apply for my top-end and middle ground colleges, and not the backups? Because if I don't get accepted to the top-end and middle ground colleges but I do to my backup then I can't redeem myself by using the statewide path. Or is this even the case?

Just to give a few stats in case it might help:
Rank 15/450
Weighted GPA 4.2
Unweighted GPA 3.9
SAT 1870 (Math 700, Reading 570, Writing 600)

Thank you!
