Freshman: Honors Geometry (A)
Sophomore: Honors Algebra II (A)
Junior: Pre-Algebra (A)

SAT Test this Saturday, May 2, 2009

Which Math test? I'm questioning this because on the practice test it says for the Math Level 2 "More than three years of college-preparatory mathematics, including two years of algebra, one year of geometry, and elementary functions (precalculus) and/or trigonometry"

I guess 8th grade math counts for the 'more than three years'???

Math 2 :D. It’s kind of easy, especially the penalty for wrong answers is more lenient^^.
I crammed 3 days before the test and got a 800.

Hasn’t the student taken some practice tests from either test to make this assessment by now?

Math 2 has a more generous curve than Math 1. Then again, it may be a self selecting population that takes Math 2, but plenty of students max at 800.

<<< Hasn’t the student taken some practice tests from either test to make this assessment by now? >>>

No, he hasn’t taken any of the practice tests. I’m sure that’s not going to happen before Saturday, either :(

My older daughter (a junior) will be taking SAT II in June. She has had honors Algebra, Geometry and now Pre-Calc and has gotten A’s in all. She is not going to major in a math area in college and wants to take the Math I. Should I try to encourage her to take Math II? Or does it not make a difference?

^Math 2.
