Quick Opinions! Would love the feedback!

So basically this is what's going on...

HS GPA: 3.3
College GPA (top 40 school): 4.0
ACT 31: (M 35, E 35, S 31, R 29, W 11 = superscored 33)
tons of EC's
Major: business/economics and psychology/neuroscience (basically business operations or behavioral economics)
Would like to compete D1 for rowing.

I am a sophomore and recently got accepted to Emory. But I'm not sure whether to take it or not because I would really love another shot at applying to Brown and Penn. If I kept my 4.0 would I have a better shot? Or is it to risky (since there is a chance I might not get into any of these three if I reapply next year)? But I also hear that if HS GPA isn't so great, junior transfer is the way to go.

a quick reply with "Emory" or "transfer junior year" would be great! I just want as many opinions as possible.

I suggest trying to transfer your junior year. In my opinion, it doesn’t make sense to attend a school you are not enthusiastic about when you clearly have another chance to make it to a school you are enthusiastic about.

Look closely at Brown and Penn’s transfer requirements for graduation. Some colleges require that you complete a certain number of course units in order to qualify for honors, awards, etc. at graduation. So if you apply again your junior year, you’d likely only have a year at the transfer school. Also, you’d have to look at whether all of your credits will transfer. If they don’t, or if the graduation requirements are different enough, it could add a semester or two to your plan to graduate.

I am not saying you shouldn’t try again next year to transfer, but look into the above before deciding. If it seems like your transfer would go smoothly to Brown or Penn, then go for it.
