<p>Unless you are a child prodigy, yes most of the time. If you want to go to a good college, you'll need a diploma of your high school or they won't accept me. Of course there are ways around it I think......... but you definitely need the diploma. So I chose A. </p>
<p>I just heard rumors that high school might extend to 5 years in order to prepare for good colleges for those who messed up. But I highly doubt this will go through.</p>

<p>For example, many highly selective colleges specifically report that they do NOT require a high school diploma for admission. Check Common Data Set filings for the colleges you are interested in to check this.</p>

<p>If a person drop out for no reason, then most colleges dont want a person like that AT ALL unless they got a better reason than "I felt like dropping out" - even community colleges would have to be begged to accept a person quitting early </p>
<p>but obvioulsy the 4 years of prepatory are generally stupid</p>
