i know the PSAT is a pretty accurate gauge of how you're going to do on the SAT; however, is it possible to raise my SAT score 200pts from my sophomore PSAT score of 64CR, 63 MATH, 61 WR when i take my SAT in the spring of my junior year? does the extra yr of school help?

It's unusual but possible. I had high PSAT scores as a junior (National Merit semifinalist, back in the Stone Age) and even higher SAT I scores as a senior, with no special preparation at all. Some learners gain more ground in one year than others.

i know my scores went up 160 points b/w cr and math and exactly 200 points b/w cr, math, and writing from my psat to my sat scores. I don't think i tried as hard as I could have of the psats tho. i think the extra year in math helps. plus you only took the psats once and you will prob take the sats 2-3 times so your scores can increase throughout the different tests

IMO, I think the PSAT is harder than the SAT. I had a 179 PSAT score and a 2110 SAT...go figure.

207 vs. 2390. I agree with sam

I got 197 and then 2200

I really messed up on the PSAT...

The key here is that it was your sophomore SAT. You can bring it up significantly even before your next PSAT. Prep for your junior year SAT with SAT prep material, which will help you for both. Then, when you get your PSAT back, go to collegeboard.com and study using the personalized info they give you. Identify your weaknesses and come up with an attack plan. You're right: the junior year PSAT typically yields a similiar result to the SAT. If you need to go up a lot after your PSAT, consider a tutor or a highly intense personal study program.

Junior year PSAT: 204 (top of 97 percentile)
March Junior SAT: 2080 (95 percentile)
June Junior SAT: 2190 (top of 98 percentile)

the psat predicted that my SAT scores would go like this: M 520 V 630 W 620and my SAT's were a 2150 with M 650 V 750 and W 750...so it can be done, but I had a tutor.

yeah i had a 185 PSAT and got a 2030. No books/classes/tutors, anything. I went in cold for a nice clean benchmark. I found the psat to be much more difficult than the SAT (although neither of my scores were any good). I think it's quite possible for you to achieve that 200pt jump.

PSAT sucks...

sophomore PSAT - 204
sophomore SAT - 2280

I think that by junior year, I can bring my score close to 2400.
