Rant about your roommate here!

Yeah, I pretty much didn’t want anything he used. My RA was really chill and to be honest all I did in the room was sleep there and sometimes be there for maybe two hours tops. Otherwise I was always outside so it wasn’t that annoying compared to me being in the room all day. My Resident Director knew about it though thats why I moved to my fraternity house second semester. He would also never get any girls to be honest.

My roommate and I got along really well first semester, but all of the sudden, we came back and the annoyances that I was able to generally overlook last time just seem so ridiculous this year. Such as the fact that she naps ALL the time. Honestly, she woke up yesterday at 12:30, took a nap at 1, woke up at 2, and took a nap at 4 to wake up at 6. She physically cannot sleep if there’s any light or anybody in the room with her, so I feel like I’m not even allowed to live in my own room anymore. And I understand naps, but recently, she’s been having them 5 or 6 days a week, and usually when it’s the most inconvenient, such as when I’m trying to do my homework.

Also, whenever we go out together, it’s always where she wants to go, no matter how much vested interest I have in doing something else. I’ve tried to speak up every single time, but she always shoots me down (in the nicest way possible). So when I go off and do my own thing, she is confused why we don’t hang out more.

And she’s also been really into getting drunk a lot recently. I’m not opposed to drinking, at all, but sometimes I just don’t feel like joining them, which happened two weeks ago. I explicitly said that I didn’t feel like joining her, no matter how many times she pleaded for me to reconsider, I just really wasn’t in the mood. So she goes off and does her own thing, and I try to get ahead on homework–then she brings everyone back with her into our room. Probably about 10-12 people, all rather drunk and doing their best to act the part. They all asked why I was in such a bad mood, and I responded that I really thought it was pretty rude of them to come in here when she knew I was doing homework and didn’t feel like drinking; instead of leaving, they asked me to leave my own room so they could carry on.

I’m probably being overdramatic but I needed to get it off my chest.

My roommate sleeps from 12pm to 6pm every day, then again from 2am to 7am. Last semester she spent three weeks in bed and didn’t even go to class, so unless she expresses that she is sick (or I know she was up late doing homework the night before, I am not totally cruel) I don’t bother to leave the lights off or be quiet anymore unless it’s actually night time. I got really tired of constantly feeling guilty when she’d stir because I coughed in my own room in the middle of the afternoon. I mean, I’ll still keep the tv volume low, etc and so forth, but I am not going to NOT go about my business in the middle of the day because she won’t get out of bed like a normal person. I have been inviting her since day one to do the same when I sleep really late.

Plus last week when she knew I was sick she went out with her friend at midnight, fine by me, and I went to bed. Then they came back at 5am and whispered and giggled when they came in, and it woke me up, and I threw up and couldn’t get back to sleep for four hours-- having been up all night the night before writing a paper, which was what made me sick in the first place. And after just talking about her and her guests leaving half filled pop cans all over my furniture and me constantly having to clean up after them, they left one ON TOP OF MY TELEVISION. I ran the hair dryer while she was napping at 5pm the next day just because I thought it was funny. “Cleaning up a spill, sorry!”

I literally laughed out loud reading that. You can’t be serious with that.

Honestly, he probably wants you to join in.

Post got teh nuke. But I was not joking about that.

kara kara kara. you should probably stop talking **** about your roomie and the other cheerleaders on here because it will come back to bite you in the ass. after all, remember that one time you wrote **** about the sororities on facebook and then all the presidents blacklisted you during rush? just a thought.

What an angry person you are.

Funny my roommate ended up becoming one of my best friends in college until i transfer from this damn school

Though I’m not in college yet, I have attended three different summer programs, and I will say that I was able to convince my roommates to follow the guidelines I set for them.

So I live in a dorm room. I am only supposed to have one room mate. Instead I live with both her and her boyfriend. This wouldn’t be such a big deal, he’s a pretty chill guy, if it wasn’t for the fact that they make everything super annoying. Every single night they stay up late talking to each other, they don’t even have the courtesy to try and whisper. And the things they talk about are stupid. They only met four months ago but are already talking about their future together. Apparently they are engaged, want a house, two kids, a dog, ugh.

And then there’s the sex part. Every single night I go to bed to the sound of heavy moaning and kissing. They don’t even care that I’m there. Also they take two hour showers EVERY day. And if I’m not listening to some kind of loud music I get an earful.

They keep me up at night and wake me up early every morning. My room mate cries, CRIES, every morning about how much she loves her boyfriend.

I don’t mean to sound like a prude. I wouldn’t mind if this happened a couple times a week. But it’s EVERY DAY!! I never get a day off! I’m debating if I want to ***** it out or move out.

I woke up in the middle of the night to find a half naked guy on my roommate’s bed. At least he said Hi to me.

._.

Have 4 roommates.

Roommate #1: Mine. Never comes to the dorm, so I basically have it to myself except when he sleeps here a few times a month or when he stops by once every few weeks for like 15 minutes. Although I did walk in on him having sex because I told him I would be back at like 10:30 from a lab so I come back to my room at 10:30, the light is off, open the door slowly and see some shadows moving. I quickly close the door quietly and come back at 11 and the girl is sleeping in his bed and he never once acknowledges her, even when we are both in the room with here there, so that was awkward

Roommate #2: Asian guy. Somewhat quiet. Knew a guy downstairs from high school so he’s always been over at his place since day 1. Seems to usually sleep somewhere else on Friday and Saturday nights as he doesn’t come back.

Roommate #3: Indian guy. The one I best know and get along with. Usually out most of the day but comes back at night. Know his friends and stuff. We’re getting an apartment next year (with some other people). Him and #2 are in the room next to mine.

Roommate #4: The Floor’s RA. Total gym rat. Probably 6’3", 200 pounds of muscle. Looks cool and is when you talk to him, but a total hard-ass, like doesn’t let us watch TV or play music even if it’s just a little above normal sound at any time of the day. We basically have 24 hour quiet hours in our room.

So yeah it’s kind of weird living with the RA, having basically no roommates most of the day (unlike the other suites here where people seem to be with their roommates all the time), and having a room to myself, but whatever.

I HATE MY ROOMMATE SHE IS AN UGLY BIOTCH!!!

JK i have no roommate. I miss having one :(

My roommate never bothers to turn her music down while I’m in the room. I’ve asked her to use headphones before, but it doesn’t make a difference because then she just turns the volume up so much that I can hear the music through her headphones perfectly clearly from across the room.

She also turns the heat up constantly even though it’s 1,000 degrees in our room…

Honestly, I REALLY lucked out with the random roommate thing. My school didn’t even have a survey. He has pretty much the same sleep schedule as me, he doesn’t try anything with his girlfriend when I’m in the room, he doesn’t play his music at an obnoxiously loud volume, doesn’t get drunk every night, etc etc. No, we’re not best friends but we respect each other.

So I guess I just ranted about him but in a good way? :p

god i could rant forever about mine. hes puked in the trash can, but then just left it for a couple days, hes had sex with a girl while i was sleeping, he lies, like when we cleaned the room he claimed i didnt help but i did more than my share, and many other little things. luckily he isnt in the room a lot and he is moving out in a couple days

I have the worst roommate ever. One night I’m doing homework in my room, and i look over to my roommate and i notice he’s masturbating in his bed. He’s done this many times in my face, and I’ve had many conversation with him about how uncomfortable this made me. He apologizes to me,but still seems to masturbate many times on his bed when I’m obviously awake. At first i thought he was gay which i really didn’t have a problem with but after conversation we had he’s claimed that he is attracted to women. All my friends hate this guy, and my girlfriend is afraid to come in my room cause of him. I already requested a room change, so in about 2 weeks i wont have to experience jack in the box anymore. Wish me luck!!!

bookmarked. =] and will update if my parents don’t let me get a single. but i’m quite positive they will as we have an agreement of sorts

I’m a classics major and my roommate is a physics major. We listen to a lot of the same music, both like to party on weekends, both study hard, and both are on a pretty similar sleep schedule. Although we don’t talk too much, it works well and I’m happy with my roommate situation. He’s also an avid Starcraft II player which makes me nostalgic.
