Jennyz365 - Do you know when he/she got the invite for an Evans interview?

I'm not sure. Probably last week or earlier, b/c he just told me 3 days ago.
I wonder how competitive the selection process for Evans is...?

very competitive, but my guess is that interesteddad would know more details!

i'm waiting. albeit very impatiently! i don't think that it's just fulfilling a selected minority. i think the early writes go out to those that have a fantastic record and/or are a recruited athlete and/or are in a selected minority.

but that's just my take.

I just recieved acceptance email letter from Swarthmore!

yay! congratulations! was it sent today?

Congratulations, Choco!

Are you an overseas/international student? If so, you might be the first of the RD'ers to receive your acceptance.

congrats!!

Congrats...and yes Choco is int'l

hmm....I wonder if the rest of the RD letters have been sent out yet... I hope so :)

they'll probably get sent out really soon. hopefully within the next week or so. :::crosses fingers:::

I just received an acceptance email!!!!!! It was in my junk mail so everybody check your junk mail carefully.

I'm a U.S. citizen living overseas, if anyone was curious.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL :)

Guys:

This is just a guess on my part. But, based on previous rounds, international students started receiving their e-mails on about the same day that letters were mailed.

I got an EW from Swat on March 17th (last last Friday)!!! I'm overjoyed, and incredibly honored. !!!!!!!! No amount of exclamation points can capture my satisfaction. :D Congrats to my fellow acceptees, and good luck to those that are still waiting! My friend summed up the waiting period quite nicely: "abject terror".

As to why I was admitted early--no idea. I'm an Asian American living in a middle class family in a small town in Southeastern Washington. I had good numbers, the usual ECs, and essays that I worked quite hard on.

I visited Swat last summer, didn't go to Discovery Weekend, and am unsure about Ride the Tide (I'd really like to go again, but my parents don't want to fork over money for plane tickets since I've visited already).

I don't think your parents are being unreasonable if you are already confident in your decision. It is a long (and potentially expensive) plane ride for a day and a half. You might shop around (Southwest, etc.) and see if you can come up with some kind of super airfare deal, but if it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world.

You guys... you did it! Through whatever combination of smarts, talent, hard work and more than a little bit of luck you got into swat!!! Are you excited??? I would go back and do it all over again. CONGRATS TO EVERYONE.

wooooot!!!!
