RD but didn't get Early Write

Hello everyone - Congratulations to all who received Early Write letters - I'm a little confused and just wanted to ask whether the lack of an EW letter is a bad sign? Does it portend rejection, lack of merit aid, or...? Thanks for any thoughts or experiences.

Most people who get into schools RD (this is true for all schools, not just Smith) don’t get early writes. My understanding is that merit based scholarships are hard to come by at Smith so it is unlikely no matter what. Though for acceptance you still have a chance (don’t assume that no early write means a rejection), good luck!

I didn’t get early writes either. But maybe they do not send EW to international students? I don’t think no EW means rejection or waitlisted btw. I’m very nervous now…hope both of us can get in!

I am also an international student and I did not receive early writes letter either. I was told that colleges do not really sent them to international students; hopefully, this will turn out to be true.
