does lafayette compare notes with lehigh? after my waitlist there my mom is convinced that they snubbed me because i applied to Lafayette ED and not Lehigh even though theyre very similar...not to mention my dad couldnt get the financial aid forms in by the deadline and they were really obnoxious to him so im pretty sure he gave lehigh a lot of BS back.

but my mom does seem to think theyve compared in the past, at the very least with scholarship awards and financial aid. she says thinks my interviewer may have mentioned it, but really does not remember. i have no idea; but i wouldnt think an interviewer/the admissions office would mention that to an applicant/their parents, my opinion is that its a VERY dnagerous line to tread.

It sounds like you did all you could as a deferred applicant. Don't even try to make sense of your waitlists. As you know, the admissions process is unpredictable and often unfair.

Expect to hear back the same time as other RD candidates (by April 1st).

No, Lafayette does not compare notes with Lehigh. Both schools know that applicants commonly apply to both, so it's not a big deal. The only information that's shared are lists of ED acceptances with our "overlap schools" to ensure students abide by the ED contract, but this is common practice among colleges.

As I said in the BC thread RD letters thread, obsessive compulsive compulsive folks can substitute their zip code in and find out how long it will take for their decision to arrive.

I got my package today, its such a great feeling to receive it! I didnt get any financial aid information though, which is a big factor......so that was a little annoying. now i have to wait more. Oh and the letter was adressed personally to me. it spoke about my essay and my ecas,my hs and what in particular they liked and want me to continue at Lafayette.I am very impressed with the personal touch. Best of luck to you all.!! BTW, i live in bangladesh, and the package got here by fedex today, so you all should receive it very soon!

Justin, if you didn't get a letter/package, does it mean you didn't get a scholarhsip? Also, if it just so happens that you got a full tuition scholarship from another source, would that affect your marquis status?

any internationals got their acceptance e-mail? I got mine today!!! YAY!!!!!!
It's the happiest Easter I've ever had in my life. :) everyone, good luck!!

hmm lets see i got my third waitlist today...another backup.
im definitely rejected, esp as a deferred student.

if they mailed them i guess there's nothing i can do, i think it would be weird if i tried to cancel it anyway after i applied ED2 and then after i was deferred did the whole 'OMG its my first choice, i love it and will still go, blah blah blah' thing, haha

i just called the admissions office and they notified me that all decisions will be mailed on the 27th...when i asked if internationals would be notified through e-mail, they said no despite the fact that many internationals have already recieved acceptance letters through e-mail....wonder whats going on?

Well keep wondering because they told me another date of coming out the decisions --
"The international decision letters were mailed today, March 25th. Thank
you for your interest in Lafayette College."

Hey, I know I haven't really posted on this forum much at all, but thought I would share and give some others hope!

Live overseas, but I am American. I can't remember if I am considered "international" or not. Anyway, got my e-mail today. Here are my stats:

ACT: 29
SAT II: 700 French
GPA: 3.6-ish UW/3.9-ish W
Everything else subjective....well essays, recs and ECs obviously sealed the deal! Good luck to everyone! =]

It is excruciating to bear this suspense for internationals. Well, the policy is to notify through email only those who are selected(as per the website). So why not let the word be out that it is over for those who didnot get the email by today?

Actually a girl in my country recieved an e-mail saying she was not accepted and another guy recieved one saying he was accepted. Really confused now.
